How to Clean a Robot Vacuum Brush Roll
A tangled brush roll is the single most common cause of a robot vacuum losing suction over time. Cleaning it takes a few minutes and no special tools.
Remove the brush roll
Most robots have a latch or two screws holding the brush roll cover in place. Refer to your manual for the exact release mechanism, since it varies by brand.
Cut away wrapped hair
Use scissors to cut through wrapped hair and thread lengthwise along the roller rather than trying to pull it off whole, which can damage the bristles or the roller’s end caps.
Wipe and reinstall
Wipe the roller and the housing it sits in with a dry cloth to remove dust buildup before clicking it back into place. A clean brush roll noticeably restores suction on most robots.
