How Often to Replace Robot Vacuum Filters
Filters are the most overlooked wear part on a robot vacuum, quietly reducing suction long before most owners notice.
A general rule of thumb
Most manufacturers recommend replacing filters every one to two months with regular use, and rinsing (for washable filters) every couple of weeks in between if your model allows it.
Signs it is overdue
A visibly gray, clogged filter, a noticeable drop in suction, or a burning-dust smell on startup are all signs a filter replacement is overdue.
Pet households need more frequent swaps
Pet hair and dander clog filters faster than dust alone, so homes with pets should generally replace filters on the shorter end of the manufacturer’s recommended range.
