Cleaning the Self-Empty Base
A self-empty base still needs occasional cleaning of its own, beyond just swapping the collection bag when full.
Replace or empty the bag on schedule
Follow the fullness indicator in the app or on the base itself rather than guessing — an overfull bag can cause the base to fail its empty cycle and report an error.
Clean the base’s own filter
Many bases have their own filter separate from the robot’s, which also needs periodic cleaning or replacement to keep suction strong during the empty cycle.
Wipe the dust sensor and inlet
The port where the robot connects to empty its bin can accumulate dust around the seal — a quick wipe here helps maintain a good seal for a full, quiet empty cycle.
