Self-Empty Base Not Emptying? What to Check
A self-empty base that stops working is usually a seal, alignment, or bag issue rather than a broken motor.
Check the bag and seal
An overfull bag, a bag installed slightly off its seat, or debris blocking the seal between the robot and base can all stop the empty cycle from completing.
Confirm proper docking
The robot needs to dock precisely aligned with the base’s inlet. If the dock has been bumped out of position or is on an uneven surface, alignment can be just off enough to fail the empty cycle.
Check the bin threshold
Some bases only trigger an empty cycle once the robot’s bin reaches a certain fullness — a lightly-used robot skipping empty cycles after every run is not necessarily a fault.
