Robot Vacuum Stuck in a Loop? What to Check
A robot that keeps returning to the same small area instead of covering the whole home usually points to one of a few specific causes.
A confused or outdated map
If furniture has moved significantly since the last map, the robot may be navigating against outdated boundaries. Re-mapping usually resolves repeated looping in one area.
A stuck wheel or sensor
Debris wrapped around a wheel or a dirty cliff sensor can make the robot behave as if it is against an obstacle that is not really there, causing repetitive back-and-forth movement.
Low light or reflective surfaces
Camera-based robots can struggle in very dark rooms, and both camera and some sensor types can be confused by mirrors or glossy black furniture, leading to erratic repeated paths near those spots.
