What the feature usually offers
Some models let you manually drive the robot around and view a live camera feed through the app, marketed as a way to check on your home or pets while away.
How it differs from a dedicated security camera
A robot vacuum only sees what is in its (low) field of view while roaming, and it is not a fixed, always-watching camera — treat it as a supplementary check-in tool, not a replacement for dedicated security cameras.
Privacy considerations
If this feature is not something you want, check whether it can be disabled in settings — some models keep the navigation camera active for mapping even if you turn off the manual "look around" feature.
