Are Robot Vacuums Safe Around Pets?
Most pets adjust to a robot vacuum without issue, but there are a few genuine safety considerations worth knowing.
Introduce it gradually
A sudden first encounter can startle a nervous pet. Let them observe from a distance and investigate the stationary robot before it is running, rather than starting a full clean with the pet already nearby.
Watch for anxious pets
Some pets never fully adjust to a moving, sound-making robot. If a pet shows ongoing signs of stress, consider scheduling cleans for times the pet is in another room or out of the home.
Small pets and low clearance
Very small pets or those that like to nap on the floor are worth supervising during a robot’s early runs, and obstacle-avoidance quality (see our camera vs LiDAR guide) matters more in homes with small animals.
